Klimkin: About 180 Ukrainian soldiers still in militant captivity
About 180 Ukrainian soldiers are still being held captive by Russian-backed militants in the Donbas conflict zone, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin said in an interview with Russian newspaper Kommersant on Sunday.
"The militants of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics continue to hold 180 prisoners from the Ukrainian armed forces,” Klimkin said.
“We gave them [back] all [of the militants held captive by the Ukrainian authorities] who had been ‘cleared’ and prepared for transfer in the framework of all legal procedures," he said.
"However, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry doesn’t know the exact number of the prisoners," Klimkin said.
