Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has dismissed Deputy Chief of Ukraine's SBU Security Service Viktor Kononenko.

This is stipulated in order No. 349/2019 dated June 3, which was posted on the presidential website.

"To dismiss Viktor Ionasovych Kononenko from the post of the deputy head of the Security Service of Ukraine," the order says.

As was reported, Kononenko was appointed deputy chief of the SBU by the then President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko in July 2017 to replace Mykhailo Hluhovsky.

Prior to his appointment, Kononenko headed the SBU's National Statehood Protection Department.
