The Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, has rejected the resolutions on the dismissal of Ukrainian Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak and SBU Head Vasyl Hrytsak (No.No. 10344, 10345, respectively).

The motions were submitted to Parliament by President Volodymyr Zelensky.

As UNIAN reported earlier, during an inauguration on May 20, Zelensky demanded that the parliament dismiss the foreign minister, chief of the SBU Security Service of Ukraine, prosecutor general and minister of defense.

The same day, Poltorak and Hrytsak submitted their resignation letters.

On Thursday, June 6, Parliament also failed to back resignation of Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has appointed snap parliamentary elections for July 21.

The elections were initially scheduled for October 27.
