Ukraine will establish the Coordination Center on Implementing Reforms of the Defense-Industrial Complex, whose priority task will be the reform of the Ukroboronprom state concern.
"Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine Oleksandr Danyliuk reported about the future establishment of the Coordination Center on Implementing Reforms of the Defense-Industrial Complex as a working body of the NSDC of Ukraine, its priority task will be the reform of the Ukroboronprom state concern," the NSDC's press service reported with reference to Danyliuk's speech during an interagency meeting on reforming the defense-industrial complex.
The Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, the Head of the State Audit Service of Ukraine, representatives of the Supervisory Board and top-management of Ukroboronprom and experts of the NSDC Staff participated in the meeting.
According to the NSDC Secretary, the Coordination Center needs to conduct a quick and comprehensive analysis of the current situation, choose the best model for reforming the defense industry, in particular, in terms of the total elimination of possible corruption activities and the participation of politicians in this sphere, as well as effectively coordinating the implementation of reforms.
The participants decided on the development of a program for reforming the Concern management system, on the implementation of legislative initiatives in the defense industry, as well as on the establishment of an operating mechanism of public control. The group will meet on a regular basis.
