MP from the Servant of the People Party Roksolana Pidlasa has said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at a faction meeting earlier today offered to reappoint Interior Minister Arsen Avakov in the new government.
"As for the interior minister, there is a proposal from the president to vote for Avakov," she said on the parliament sidelines Thursday, according to an UNIAN correspondent.
When asked whether she would vote for such a staffing decision, she said: "I believe, if this is the president's proposal, we will back it."
Pidlasa also noted incumbent Finance Minister Oksana Markarova was also set to stay in the new Cabinet.
"She definitely enjoys respect among international organizations and the IMF, so the fact that she remains is a positive step for the Ukrainian government," the MP said.
In general, according to Pidlasa, there were no discussions with the president regarding staffing proposals. "We support the president's vision," she added.
