During a telephone conversation, President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, reminded President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky of the need to make progress on security issues and implement political measures to resolve the situation in Donbas.

That's according to Macron's press service.

The President of France congratulated Zelensky on Parliament's support in the appointment of a new Prime Minister, Oleksiy Honcharuk and the formation of his government.

In addition, during a telephone conversation, the results of negotiations between Macron and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, as well as the results of the G7 leaders' summit, were discussed.

"Taking into account the summit of the heads of state and government of the Normandy Four scheduled for September, he recalled the joint desire to achieve rapid progress on security issues and regarding political measures necessary to resolve the conflict in eastern Ukraine," the statement said.

To this end, in the coming weeks, both presidents and their teams will maintain close contact.
