According to Naraev, the regulation of water extraction in small wells located in private households will be very difficult, but officials are ready for the task.
"Taking into account the shortage of water in the Crimea, we should oblige everyone to install meters. Our experts will determine how much water you can get, and these limits can’t be exceeded. The limit will be determined for each well. This is a very daunting task, [and] it will take a long time," he said.
According to environmentalists, well boring in Crimea would solve the problem of water supply only for 2-3 years and lead to soil salinization in the northern and central parts of the peninsula.
