Chaliy likely to be new Ukrainian ambassador to US
The successor of Oleksandr Motsyk as Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States is likely to be Valeriy Chaliy, Ukraine's TSN news program reported on Tuesday.
As reported, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko on Tuesday dismissed Oleksandr Motsyk from the post of Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States. The diplomat had held this position since 2010.
His likely successor Chaliy is currently the deputy head of the Presidential Administration and the press officer of the Mariupol sector of the front line.
In comments to the press, Chaliy said he didn’t reject the probability of such an appointment.
According to the report, Chaliy is in Washington and has already been there for several days.
