Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has canceled the decree of his predecessor Petro Poroshenko on assigning diplomatic ranks to people's deputies Volodymyr Aryev and Artur Herasimov.

The relevant decree dated Sept 11 was published on the president's website.

"This is to cancel the decrees as such as issued without reason, namely Ukrainian President's Decree No. 275 of May 18, 2019, 'On the assignment of diplomatic ranks' with regard to the assignment of the diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to V. Aryev and A. Herasimov, as well as Decree No. 298 of May 19, 2019, 'On the assignment of a diplomatic rank,'" the document said.

In particular, Decree No. 298 dealt with the assignment of the diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Georgiy Logvinskiy, a parliamentarian of the eighth convocation.

As was earlier reported, the Verkhovna Rada canceled parliamentary immunity on Sept 3, 2019.
