Ukraine's Foreign Minister rejects idea of full amnesty for Donbas militants
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vadym Prystaiko emphasizes that Ukraine does not agree to a full amnesty for Russian-controlled militants in Donbas.
The statement came during a joint press conference with U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine negotiations, Kurt Volker in Kyiv Saturday, according to an UNIAN correspondent.
"I'd like to remind you that in 2015, the law on amnesty was voted, which did not provide for any kind of full amnesty. And neither do the efforts of today's diplomacy provide for any full amnesty," Pristayko said .
As UNIAN wrote earlier, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Dmytro Razumkov, said that to resolve the military conflict in Donbas, applying amnesty to those involved in war crimes would be unacceptable.
