President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has sent a letter of thanks to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Lukashenko thanked Zelensky for the warm welcome the Belarusian delegation had enjoyed in the Ukrainian city of Zhytomyr, BelTA has learned.

Lukashenko noted the top-level negotiations had demonstrated the solidarity of the countries in matters on the international agenda and in bilateral cooperation.

"Results of the 2nd Forum of Regions of Belarus and Ukraine vividly confirm the need to further advance a direct interregional dialogue," the president stressed.

Lukashenko expressed confidence in the successful implementation of all Belarusian-Ukrainian projects in production sector, agriculture, energy industry, transport industry, logistics as well as in the expansion of cultural ties for the sake of bolstering good neighborhood traditions.

"I am convinced that arrangements made in Zhytomyr will surely be realized. I expect vigorous and substantial contacts will continue," Lukashenko said.

The Belarusian president also invited his Ukrainian counterpart to come to Belarus on an official visit at any convenient time.
