Klimkin slams decision by UN chief to visit Russia (Video)

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon plans to visit Moscow on Saturday to attend celebrations of the Soviet Union's victory in World War II over Nazi Germany, despite criticism from Ukraine and other central European states.

Ahead of the event, Ban will also visit Poland and Ukraine to take part in events commemorating of the end of the Second World War, Ukraine Today reports.

According to Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin, the Moscow visit by a top UN official sends “completely the wrong message,” as Russia has violated "a number of key principles which are the cornerstone of the United Nations,” including the UN Charter.
