Ukrainian Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk has said the Cabinet of Ministers improved the procedure for granting Ukrainian citizenship to politically persecuted persons for fighting for Ukraine.

"The government has improved the procedure for granting Ukrainian citizenship to persons subjected to political persecution for the protection of Ukraine, its territorial integrity and sovereignty," he wrote on Telegram.
According to Honcharuk, the new procedure allows to identify citizens who have been convicted of political reasons on the territory of their state for supporting Ukraine, and at the same time to prevent granting citizenship to those who have been convicted of grave and especially grave crimes on grounds other than political.
