Poroshenko: Kerry explained every detail of talks with Putin before visit to Russia
Ukraine considers the United States a reliable partner, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said in an interview with BBC Ukraine on Tuesday evening.
"I have every reason to believe that the United States is an absolutely reliable partner of Ukraine... I trust, and there is no suspicion, that Ukraine will not become a bargaining chip in relations between Russia and the United States," Poroshenko said.
The President also said that he trusted U.S. President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and Secretary of State John Kerry.
"Before the trip to Moscow, Secretary of State John Kerry called me from the plane and explained every detail of his upcoming talks in Moscow about Ukraine. Ukraine was the main priority, but he also had to discuss Iran, Syria and other issues," Poroshenko said.
