According to Lavrov, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky allegedly wants positive changes in relations with the Russian Federation, but "there are those who are trying to prevent him from doing this."

"This is regrettable, but we will be ready to the extent that we can try to help him, in particular, we will encourage Donetsk and Luhansk to ensure that they are as constructive as possible in implementing those decisions that the [Trilateral] Contact Group will coordinate at the suggestion of the 'Normandy format,'" Lavrov told Channel One Russia, RIA Novosti reported.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Head of the Center for Political Conjuncture Alexei Chesnakov said Kyiv and Donbas might hold a prisoner swap by the end of this year if the video conference of the Trilateral Contact Group scheduled for Monday, December 23, brings success.
