Luhansk militant leader Mozgovoi assassinated by rival gangs, says Poroshenko's office (Video)
One of the top militant commanders in the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic was assassinated by rival armed gangs on May 23, according to Ukraine President’s administration, while there are other theories surrounding his death.
The incident took place on a Luhansk-Alchevsk road, involving detonation of an explosive device and a shooting that followed, Ukraine Today reports.
Earlier assassination attempts resulted in Mozgovoi accusing other militant groups of triggering an “internal war”.
