Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov says the Ukrainian side had evidence indicating the downing of the UIA passenger jet before Iran issued an official statement confirming this.

Danilov claimed to BBC Ukraine that this was why Iran chose to admit to shooting down flight PS752.

"I think that Iran understood that there is no way to deny this anymore, and we had already had evidence on the Ukrainian side anyway," the NSDC secretary said.

The photos released by the Ukrainian President's Office clearly shows points of missile fragments penetrating the cockpit.

"These are the holes from the missile hit. We can't say now which missile exactly it is, but we guess and know its brand," Danilov said.

As UNIAN reported, today, January 11, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani officially admitted that the Ukrainian airliner had been shot down accidentally as a result of "human error."
