ATO: Militants fire 152mm artillery on Shyrokyne
Russian-backed militants in the Donbas attacked Ukrainian army positions about 40 times from Monday evening to Tuesday morning, the press center of the Anti-Terrorist Operation said on its Facebook page on Tuesday.
"An egregious case of the violation of the Minsk agreements was recorded near the village of Shyrokyne. The Russian-backed militants used 152mm artillery there," the report says.
The militants also fired 120mm mortars and 122mm artillery systems on the village of Pisky, the mine of Butivka, the village of Opytne and the town of Avdiyivka. In addition, they fired tank shells on the villages of Opytne and Vodiane.
According to the report, the militants fired small arms and rocket-propelled grenades on a number of settlements in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions.
"In particular, the militants fired on the town of Shastya, the villages of Stanytsia Luhanska, Stariy Aidar, Krasnohorivka, Vodiane. In addition, they fired 122mm artillery on the residential areas in the village of Vodiane," the press center said.
"During this period, the Ukrainian army recorded 25 reconnaissance overflights by enemy drones, mainly in Luhansk region and in the area of Mariupol," the ATO headquarters said.
