Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vadym Prystaiko at an upcoming meeting of the United Nations General Assembly set to be held on February 20 will raise the issue of introducing peacekeepers throughout the occupied Donbas.

The issue of introducing a peacekeeping mission is constantly on the agenda of all such meetings, the minister told the Svoboda Slova [Freedom of Speech] panel show on ICTV on February 17.

At the same time, the top diplomat said the Russian side was always trying to have the issue dropped, since peacekeepers are not mentioned in the Minsk agreements.

"I'm leaving for New York tomorrow to speak with the Secretary General and speak at the UN General Assembly, and in particular, to remind of this issue that we expect, as far as it's possible, this mission to be launched – and not along the contact line, as the Russian Federation suggests, but throughout the occupied territory of Ukraine," Prystaiko emphasized.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Prystaiko will take part in a meeting of the United Nations General Assembly on February 20 regarding the situation in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
