Ukraine's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Vasyl Bodnar has called on the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) to inform the international community about a recent attempt by Russian-led forces to advance near the town of Zolote, Luhansk region, in Ukraine's Donbas.

"[I] called on the OSCE to immediately inform the international community about an attempted Russian offensive in the Zolote area. [I] drew attention to the use of prohibited weapons by the Russian Federation's armed forces," Bodnar said on Twitter on February 18.

He also informed about his meeting with Chief Monitor of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine Yaşar Halit Çevik over escalation in Donbas.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Russian occupying forces on Tuesday morning attacked Ukrainian defense positions in Donbas, using 120mm mortars proscribed by the Minsk agreements. Under fire cover, the Russian invaders began their offensive operation and attempted to advance across the contact line. One Ukrainian soldier was killed and another five were wounded amid the fight. The enemy's casualties included four killed and six wounded.
