Chief of the President’s Office, Andriy Yermak, discussed with the ambassadors of the Group of Seven and the European Union issues of assistance to Ukraine in the fight against the spread of coronavirus.

The press service of the head of state says the meeting focused on the latest developments around the globe regarding the coronavirus pandemic, as well as the epidemiological situation in Ukraine.

"The interlocutors praised the efforts of the President and the Government of Ukraine in the context of measures taken to counter the spread of coronavirus in our country. In this regard, a number of issues of practical assistance to Ukraine from the Group of Seven and the EU on the provision of relevant medical equipment and medicines were discussed," the statement says.

The chief of the President's Office noted that the head of state holds telephone conversations with world leaders almost daily, discussing mutual support amid the coronavirus pandemic.

"The participants in the meeting agreed on the need to consolidate efforts of the international community to overcome the negative consequences of the coronavirus pandemic for the global economy," the report said.

It is also noted that the head of the Presidential Office briefed interlocutors on the security situation in Donbas and the meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group, held in Minsk on March 11.
