Ukraine's Foreign Ministry condemns verdict on Sentsov and Kolchenko
Ukraine's Foreign Ministry has condemned the sentences delivered on Tuesday on Ukrainian film director Oleh Sentsov and Ukrainian activist Oleksandr Kolchenko, calling them "a travesty of justice."
"Travesty of justice in Russia! We condemn in strongst terms illegal sentences of Sentsov and Kolchenko. Free our Heroes!" spokesperson for the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Mariana Betsa wrote on Twitter.
As UNIAN reported earlier, on August 25, the military court in Russia’s city of Rostov-on-Don on Tuesday sentenced Ukrainian film director Oleh Sentsov to 20 years in prison and Ukrainian activist Oleksandr Kolchenko to 10 years in prison, both are accused of terrorism and will be kept in a high-security penal colony.
