Russia turns Crimea into base for military operations against West: Poroshenko

"Crimea has become a base of military operations of Russia in its efforts to further destabilize the situation in the Black Sea and the Mediterranean, in its global confrontation with the West," the president said at a conference in Kyiv, an UNIAN correspondent reported.

Poroshenko stressed the need to ensure the return of Ukraine’s control over its eastern border and restore its sovereignty over Crimea.
