Yushchenko calls on majority to shoulder responsibility
The President spoke as an economist
President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko calls on the majority to shoulder responsibility for processes in the Verkhovna Rada, and to return to work in line with the constitution.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, Victor Yushchenko claimed this to a press conference in the Verkhovna Rada.
Victor Yushchenko expressed a surprise that today, for the first time in the Ukrainian history, a part of the parliamentary majority, which must be responsible for the stable work of parliament, blocked it.
He called on the government and the coalition majority to return to the constitutional field, to normal work, not to go a populist way, but be busy with clear anti-inflation measures, amendments to budget, and a number of other social, economical, and humanitarian laws.
The President added he will do his best for the ruling coalition bear a full responsibility for the situation in Ukraine.
“I address the last replica to the parliamentary majority. You should bear responsibility for the today’s events in parliament, and undertake all obligations to stabilize the parliament’s work…”, the President said.
