The law is aimed at ensuring the establishment of specific terms of contract military service during the special period, in the event of a crisis situation that threatens national security, the announcement of the decision on carrying out mobilization and (or) the introduction of a legal regime of the state of war.
The document amended the Law of Ukraine "On Military Duty and Military Service," which sets the term of military service for six months: for conscripted military service and conscripts under mobilization, who served not less than 11 months during the special period, for persons who were discharged from military service during the special period, who were taken to military service under the contract from the announcement of mobilization before the imposition of martial law (the onset of war) or the announcement of the decision to demobilize.
It is also assumed the possibility of early termination of the contract in the event of termination of the special period, or the announcement of the decision to demobilize.
In addition, the military will have an opportunity to continue military service under the contract for a period of six months in the event of termination of the contract and non-completion of the special period.
The law will increase the number of contract servicemen with the experience of fighting in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations.
