Former President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma is confident that there will be no snap presidential and parliamentary election in Ukraine.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, he said this to journalists in Kyiv on Tuesday.

According to him, both the presidential and parliamentary elections will take place in line with the Constitution.

“I think the President will not trigger the same backflash by announcing an illegal election”, he said.

Speaking about the situation in the Verkhovna Rada, L.Kuchma noted that a snap poll may take place only if the current coalition splits, and the new one is not created.

It will be difficult to create other than the current coalition in parliament, L.Kuchma said.

According to him, even if the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine votes no confidence to Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, she will remain working as an acting head of the government.

Considering this reason, L.Kuchma believes now it is necessary to give Yu.Tymoshenko an opportunity to work and show what her government is able to do.
