Evening session of Verkhovna Rada closed

The evening session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine closed by 5 minutes earlier than usual.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, the Party of Regions faction demanded to put for voting a package of issues on privatization. In particular, they pressed to consider draft laws forbidding privatization in Ukraine until a state privatization program for the year 2008 is adopted.

Party of Regions lawmakers approached the parliamentary rostrum making it understood that they will block it if the Verkhovna Rada considers other issues.

Speaker Arseniy Yatseniuk said it is necessary to hold political consultations and closed the Verkhovna Rada session.
