Verkhovna Rada to listen to report of central bank head

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine made decision to listen in parliament to the information of central bank of Ukraine head Volodymyr Stelmakh about the monetary and credit policy of Ukraine.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, 382 lawmakers out of 447, registered in the chamber, voted for this.

The proposal to listen to the report about the monetary management was put forward by the factions of the Party of Regions, the Block of Lytvyn, BYuT, and CPU.

At the same time, Speaker Arseniy Yatseniuk called on MPs not to mix politics and economics. “It should be an economical discussion”, he stressed.

The central bank of Ukraine is an independent institution, and lawmakers must not interfere into its activities, the Speaker pointed out.
