The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine appointed Oleksander Zinchenko as chief of the group of scientific advisers and referents of the Prime Minister.

The respective government’s resolution #743-r of May 28 was publicized at the web site of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

As UNIAN reported earlier, O.Zinchenko entered the top five of the BYuT list at the early election to the Kyiv City Council on May 25, 2008.

During October 2006 – April 2008 O.Zinchenko was advisor to President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko.

Since January of 2005, he occupied the post of  State Secretary of Ukraine. He resigned from this post on September 3, 2005, after accusing the President’s entourage, in particular, that-time Security Chief Petro Poroshenko, President’s top aide Oleksander Tretyakov, and Our Ukraine faction leader Mykola Martynenko, of corruption. President Yushchenko accepted his resignation on the same day.
