President calls on government to finance Kyiv elections

President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko calls on the Cabinet of Ministers to completely finance the elections of Kyiv Mayor and Kyiv City Council.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, deputy President’s Chief of Staff Maryna Stavniychuk claimed this to journalists today.

She pointed out that, as of today, the elections that took place on May 25 were financed by 45%.

According to M.Stavniychuk, the Kyiv City Territorial Electoral Commission has addressed the President with request to help complete the financing of the Kyiv elections.

M.Stavniychuk noted that it was the first ever electoral campaign, where elections were financed by less than 50%.
