Acting chief of the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) Valentyn Nalyvaychenko refutes the statement of Our Ukraine – People’s Self-Defense faction MP David Zhvania that as if Victor Yushchenko was not poisoned in 2004 during the presidential race.
V.Nalyvaychenko claimed this to RFE/RL.
“I have already expressed my position as a citizen, and as an official: this information is false, if to assess it officially. And, as for morals – without any doubt, this is immoral”, V.Nalyvaychenko said.
He stressed that the fact of poisoning was proved with results of work of SBU investigators, as well as with results of international expertises.
“I can list three countries: Germany, Great Britain, and Belgium. All the three results confirm that the [President’s] health worsened after a considerable volume of chemical substance penetrated into his organism”, V.Nalyvaychenko stressed.
Asked about organizers of the crime, the SBU chief pointed out that the case is under investigation.
As UNIAN reported earlier, OU-PSD faction member David Zhvania claimed on May 30 that Victor Yushchenko was not poisoned.
