ATO HQ: Ukrainian troops clash with enemy near Mariupol overnight
The combined Russian-separatist forces attacked Ukrainian army positions in eastern Ukraine more than 30 times overnight, the press center of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) wrote on Facebook early Thursday.
"The militants fired repeatedly from heavy machine guns, rocket-propelled grenades and small arms on the villages of Pisky, Novhorodske and Opytne in the Donetsk sector," the press center said.
It is noted that using the same types of weapons, as well as anti-aircraft guns, tanks, 82mm and 120mm mortars, the occupiers repeatedly fired on the town of Krasnohorivka. In addition, the enemy fired multiple rocket launchers on the southern outskirts of the village of Kurakhivka.
The village of Luhanske was shelled from grenade launchers and infantry fighting vehicles.
According to the press center, a short military clash with a sabotage and reconnaissance group of militants took place near the village of Novhorodske on the outskirts of the port city of Mariupol. The enemy was forced to retreat.

"In the evening, the Kremlin-backed mercenaries fired rocket-propelled grenades, heavy machine guns and 82mm mortars, and after midnight they fired 122mm artillery systems twice on the village," the report says.
In addition, the militants fired 82mm mortars on ATO forces near the village of Triokhizbenka, as well as rocket-propelled grenades on the outskirts of the town of Schastia and the village of Zhovte.
