Gryzlov was appointed to the Contact Group on December 26 / Photo from UNIAN

The flight which was supposed to fly Gryzlov to Kyiv was cleared to enter Ukraine’s airspace by the State Aviation Service earlier today, January 11, as noted by the press service of Ukraine’s air traffic controller UkSATSE.

The state-owned UkSATSE reminded that all direct flights to the Ukrainian cities and the transit of Russian aircraft through the Ukrainian airspace was banned from November 25 of last year.

On December 26, former State Duma Speaker Boris Gryzlov was appointed Russia’s plenipotentiary representative to the Tripartite Liaison Group.

First, Russia was represented in the contact group by Mikhail Zurabov. Russian President Vladimir Putin replaced him in April by Azamat Kulmukhametov.
