"The Vice President also commended President Poroshenko's decision to replace Prosecutor General Shokin, which paves the way for needed reform of the prosecutorial service," the White House said in a statement, as reported by Reuters.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko had a phone conversation with U.S. Vice President Joseph Biden on Thursday evening to inform about the deterioration of the situation in Donbas, particularly the intensification of shelling, the use of MRLS by Russia-controlled militants and their increased activity in the area of Maryinka.
