Cooperation between Ukraine and Austria is developing dynamically. Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko announced during the meeting with Federal Chancellor of Austria Alfred Gusenbauer, according to the government’s press-office.

Ukraine’s PM emphasized that Austria as regards an amount of investment capital drawn into the development of Ukraine’s economy ranks seven among the rest of the world coutries which invest into our state. In addition Yulia Tymoshenko noted that export from Ukraine to Austria over the first 5 months of 2008 has increased by more than 40%, while export from Austria to Ukraine is characterized with a significant growth. “All this gives us hope that the dynamics of our cooperation will always be so powerful and will only ascend,” Prime Minister of Ukraine said.

During the meeting Yulia Tymoshenko congratulated Federal Chancellor of Austria on successful holding of European Football Championship Euro-2008 in his state. The Head of Ukrainian Government noted that for Ukraine it is an example of how such events should be organized. “And this day is a great chance for You, as Chancellor of the country, to hand on the baton of hosting of Euro to Ukraine together with the experience, together with advice, with cooperation, and we really strive for such a cooperation,” she emphasized.

For his part Federal Chancellor of Austria Alfred Gusenbauer stressed that he praises relations between the two states which are developing well. According to him, Austrian enterprises taking part in investing of projects in Ukraine are satisfied with cooperation between the two countries and have great perspectives concerning privatization, which are opening in Ukraine.

Alfred Gusenbauer underscored that for Ukraine the Euro-2012 bears a signifiicant meaning and it will be a visiting card of Ukraine. Federal Chancellor of Austria said that over a rather short timeline Ukraine has to solve a great amount of tasks joined with this event. He also added that Austrian Government will share with the Ukrainian one its experience in terms of holding the Euro championship. “For you it appears a great chance, as it is for us either, in order to further conduct effective cooperation between Ukraine and Austria. In 2012 this event, hosted by Ukraine, will strengthen cooperation with Austria,” Alfred Gusenbauer summed up.
