And to refuse integration in NATO

The Bloc of Lytvyn proposes to refuse speeding up Ukraine’s integration with NATO.

According to the statement of the Lytvyn’s Bloc forwarded to UNIAN, the Bloc and the People’s Party state that, as of today, there are certain grounds allowing to draw the first conclusions, and to look objectively on the role of Ukraine in the political processes in the Black Sea region.

In the opinion of statement authors, the situation has indicated that involvement of armed forces is still, unfortunately, one of the instruments for use in “frozen conflicts” in the post-Soviet space.

The statement reads that “GUAM has showed its absolute impotence, though the topic of solving “frozen conflicts” was declared as one of the main ones in its activities”.

In the opinion of the Lytvyn’s Bloc, Ukraine must draw a number of conclusions from the conflict in the Caucasus. In particular, according to the statement, Ukraine needs a radical revision of its foreign policy, including the Black Sea vector.

The Bloc believes that, considering the recent developments, it is necessary to refuse focusing on only one center of power – GUAM, which has proved its inefficiency, but to begin building equal relations with all states of the Black Sea region.

The authors of the statement stress that the foreign policy must base on refusing to speed up Ukraine’s integration with NATO.
