Ukraine urges Netherlands to approve responsible decision on Association Agreement
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko held a meeting with Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte in the framework of the 2016 Warsaw Summit of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, the presidential press service reported.
Poroshenko urged the Dutch party to approve a responsible decision on the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU, a statement reads.
The president believes that the prime minister of the Netherlands will also facilitate the adoption of the decision on granting Ukraine a visa-free travel, as noted in the statement.
Poroshenko also expressed gratitude to Mark Rutte for the position that allowed the EU to extend sectoral and economic sanctions against Russia. It is noted that the measures have already proved effective in curbing Russia's further aggression.
The parties have also coordinated further actions with regard to the investigation of the MH-17 tragedy.
