Leonid Osavlyuk, director of the First Territorial Department, met today with Vsevolod Loskutov, temporary envoy of Russia to Ukraine, in the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry. V.Loskutov was officially notified about the contents of the resolution of the Ukrainian government dated August 27 on introducing new rules of crossing the Ukrainian state borders by personnel, ships, and aircraft of the Russian Black Sea fleet.
UNIAN was informed about this by the Foreign Ministry’s press-service.
The Ukrainian side expressed a hope that Russia will adequately perceive the new rules and that the Black Sea fleet will strictly follow them.
At the same time, the Ukrainian sides turned attention of V.Loskutov to the unacceptable response that has been voiced lately by Russian officialdom to the decisions of the President and the Government of Ukraine on the problems of the Black Sea fleet. The Ukrainian side called on to be reserved and proper in giving estimates to grounded and legal steps of Ukraine. The decisions of Ukraine on the BSF completely correspond to demands of Article 15 of the bipartite Agreement on the status and conditions of the BSF stay at the Ukrainian territories signed on May 28, 1997.
