Says PM enjoys support of Russian pro-presidential forces

The approval of Tymoshenko’s activities by RF State Duma deputy speaker indicates that Yulia Tymoshenko and Kremlin coordinate their activities.

Stepan Khmara, representative of the Ukrainian People’s Party and former dissident, claimed this to journalists. The politician commented on the words of Liubov Sliska, representative of pro-presidential United Russia and deputy speaker of the Russian parliament, who said that “Tymoshenko acts absolutely right”. She also called Yulia Tymoshenko’s actions “a clever reckoning”, and underscored her “reasonable position” in assessing the Caucasian conflict.

“From the point of view of Russian national interests, this behavior of Yulia Tymoshenko really seem clever, that is why she enjoys support of pro-presidential forces of Russia”, the politician noted.

“Tymoshenko and Kremlin exchanged signals on the eve of the presidential campaign [in Ukraine]. The Prime Minister signaled that she is ready to yield national interests, and Kremlin – that in this case it is ready to support her in struggle for the post of President”, S.Khmara stressed. In his opinion, “Ukraine returns to the situation of the year 2004, when Moscow has to propose at least one its candidacy at the presidential election in Ukraine. In 2008, Moscow shows that it may propose two candidacies at once – Yulia Tymoshenko and Victor Yanukovych”, S.Khmara stressed.
