No grounds for national emergency – Presidential Secretariat
Deputy Chief of Staff rules out eventual introducing of direct presidential rule
The Presidential Secretariat is confident that as of today there are no grounds for introducing a national emergency or a direct presidential rule in the country.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, deputy President’s Chief of Staff Maryna Stavniychuk claimed this to a press conference today.
She stressed that President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko has many times said that he would follow the Ukrainian legislation even in the most complicated political situations.
“I don’t have any information that could be a basis for such talks [about introducing a state of emergency or a direct presidential rule - UNIAN], as well as any evidence that there is such a need”, M.Stavniychuk stressed.
