Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko is signaling the country`s political crisis could lead to early presidential elections, according to AP.

Tymoshenko says the vote should be held if her shattered coalition with the president`s party is not revived and she does not form an alliance with the opposition.

Friday`s statement is the latest salvo in Tymoshenko`s bitter and long-standing feud with President Viktor Yushchenko. It signals she is determined to retain power — either as prime minister or with a possible presidential run — regardless of the outcome of the current political crisis. Turbulence led to the collapse of her pro-Western governing coalition with Yushchenko`s party this month.
