Yushchenko says ready to dissolve parliament
If no coalition created
President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko is ready to dissolve the parliament if no coalition is created during the period fixed by the Constitution.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, he claimed this to a press conference in Lviv on Thursday.
“I support consultations, dialogs, I will give political forces an opportunity to conduct this dialog, but if no respective joint statement is made during this period [till 24.00 of today], I will exercise my right to dissolve the parliament”, the President said.
According to Victor Yushchenko, the laws cancelled by parliament today may be only the beginning of talks on restoring the democratic coalition.
The President stressed that the today’s decisions may just form a basis for talks on creating the coalition of the Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko, Our Ukraine – People’s Self-Defense Bloc, and the Lytvyn’s Bloc. There are still many problems to be solved, including expressing a joint position on Georgia, he said.
Victor Yushchenko expressed concern that the laws, which were canceled today, may be adopted again in several days.
