The BYuT faction demands that the Verkhovna Rada consider today amendments to the Budget Code and the draft state budget for the year 2009.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, Verkhovna Rada deputy speaker Mykola Tomenko claimed this to journalists.
He stressed that today the parliament has to introduce amendments into Law “On State Budget of Ukraine for the year 2008”, in the part concerning financing the Pension Fund, paying out citizens’ deposits, and financing the army.
He claimed: “The President of Ukraine or Rinat Leonidovych [Akhmetov], or other living classics, ideologists of the snap poll, may believe that it is possible to live without any budget, but our political force believes it would be a crime against the nation”.
According to the deputy Speaker, “such a demobbing finale of parliament would be highly assessed by the Ukrainian nation”.
