Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko asks President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko to cancel the snap parliamentary poll.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, Yulia Tymoshenko claimed this at an extraordinary session of government on Tuesday.

“I will once again turn to President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko today. Considering the world financial crisis, and the necessity to protect the country from any its consequences, we should immediately resume the work of parliament, which must adopt 49 draft laws exigently needed by the country – from introducing amendments into the state budget-2008 to all necessary measures to support financial markets and separate branches. For the sake of stability in the country, for the sake of protecting people, I ask the President to cancel the snap poll”, Yulia Tymoshenko claimed.

The Prime Minister stressed that, considering the world financial crisis, all political forces should coordinate their activities.

“The parliament just has to work today, because it is necessary to defend the country and people. The parliament must resume its work, and all political fighting and intrigues must be put off for a long time, until the world stabilizes all its vitally important systems, and until Ukraine is able to work out serious systems of counteracting such crises”, she stressed.
