Lawmakers worked till 5 a.m. - Yatseniuk
Morning plenary session of parliament has closed
The morning plenary session of parliament has closed, the evening one is due to open at 16.00.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, Verkhovna Rada Speaker Arseniy Yatseniuk claimed this in the chamber of parliament. He stressed that lawmakers had been working over a single anti-crisis draft law “till 5 a.m. today”.
“To avoid claims to authors of the draft law, and considering that the Presidential Secretariat took a very active part in its development, a decision was made to propose this draft law as a single one signed by the President of Ukraine”, the Speaker stressed.
According to him, the draft law “included proposals from practically all factions of parliament”.
“We will try to adopt it – we must do that”, he said.
He noted that the issue of snap poll is also important, “but at present we should follow the way of considering this draft law”.
Besides, the Speaker invited Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, central bank head Volodymyr Stelmakh, Finance Minister Victor Pinzenyk, and parliamentary factions leaders to discuss this issue in his cabinet at 14.00.
