Yushchenko says Orange Revolution his biggest pride

"I’m proud that it happened in Ukraine, and I was connected with it..."

President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko says that the Orange Revolution is his biggest political pride.

Victor Yushchenko said this in an interview to Channel 5, according to the President`s press-office.

“For the rest of my life I will remember it as my biggest political pride, [I’m proud] that it happened in Ukraine, and I was connected with it”, the President said.

Victor Yushchenko assessed that-time developments as a revolution of the political conscience of Ukrainian nation and the appearance of national dignity.

“The most important is that the Orange Revolution and Maydan of the year 2004 brought us self-esteem. The truth is that Maydan gave us freedom”, Victor Yushchenko said, adding that Maydan participants, first of all, protested against rigging the presidential election in Ukraine and defended their right to elect freely.
