Tymoshenko gives Yushchenko time till end of week
To form democratic coalition
Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko has turned to President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko and his political for the last time, asking him to resume the democratic coalition in parliament in a strengthened format (with the Lytvyn’s Bloc faction).
According to an UNIAN correspondent, Yulia Tymoshenko claimed this to journalists in the Cabinet of Ministers.
“I want that all higher officials understand that now the destruction of coalition and work of the Verkhovna Rada is not a move against Tymoshenko, but against Ukraine. That’s why I turn to the President with a final proposal to resume the democratic coalition, considering the responsibility of the President, the Prime Minister, and democratic coalition MPs before their electors. I want to remind the President that we should serve people and not our personal ambitions”, Yulia Tymoshenko said.
The Prime Minister stressed that in case if the democratic coalition is not resumed till end of week, BYuT “will look for other variants and other opportunities”.
At the same time, the BYuT leader made an official offer to Volodymyr Lytvyn, leader of the eponymous bloc’s faction, to join the democratic coalition. “We are ready to accept conditions set by the Lytvyn’s Bloc to form a strengthened variant of the democratic coalition”, she stressed.
