Speaking to journalists in Volyn region President Victor Yushchenko said that there are no economic, financial or other causes for rapid devaluation of the Hryvnya, according to the President`s press-office.
According to him despite economic and financial crisis did really affect national currency, increase in demand for foreign currency was caused rather by psychological factors. “I am deeply assured: today’s exchange rates demand fighting with speculative operations that has formed on currency market in last few days”, - he said, urging the National Bank, Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Economy to apply all necessary measures to minimize psychological causes for the situation.
