As UNIAN reported earlier, the Russian ambassador to Ankara, Andrei Karlov, 62, was shot in an attack at an art gallery in the Turkish capital on Monday and the Russian RIA news agency said he had died of his wounds.

The gunman, who was killed by law enforcers at the scene, is confirmed to have been a Turkish police officer Mevlut Mert Altintas.
