Yushchenko presses Verkhovna Rada to cancel lawmakers’ immunity
Lawmakers were involved in recent raider attacks?
Ukrainian President Victor Yushchenko says that he will again demand the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to cancel the deputies` immunity from the prosecution.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, he said this at a meeting with Verkhovna Rada Speaker Volodymyr Lytvyn on Thursday.
In particular, the President stressed he would like the parliament to consider more than ten draft bills initiated by him. A draft law aimed at preventing MPs from conducting land-related raider attacks is among them.
The President expressed a concern about the recent raider attacks on land plots, in particular, in the Kyiv Oblast, in which people`s deputies have been involved.
“I hope for your support and the support of parliament. Such people should be expelled from parliament”, Victor Yushchenko emphasized.
